What is an m3u8 file?
An m3u8 file is a text playlist used by HLS streaming. It doesn't contain the video itself — it lists the addresses of many small .ts video chunks, plus playback metadata. Can I download live streams with this tool?

How long does a conversion take?
It depends on the length of the video and the speed of the source server, not on a queue — there is no queue. Short clips are usually done in seconds; a feature-length movie with a thousand segments may take a few minutes. The progress bar shows each chunk arriving in real time, so you always know exactly where the download stands.
What about live streams that are still airing?
A live broadcast has no end, so its playlist can never be "finished" the way a replay can. For still-airing streams, use the recording mode of the Chrome extension, which captures the buffered stream while it plays. Once the broadcast ends and a complete replay playlist exists, this downloader handles it like any other video.
Where is the MP4 saved, and can I change the filename?
The file goes to your browser's standard downloads folder, just like any file you download from the web. You can rename it afterwards freely — renaming an MP4 never damages it — and the browser's “save as” prompt lets you pick a different location if you have that option enabled in your browser settings.
Does it work with YouTube / Netflix / TikTok?
